A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered that human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
The order was made on Monday during proceedings on his application challenging the revocation of his bail.
The presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Umar, gave the ruling after dismissing an application filed by Sowore seeking his withdrawal from the case over allegations of bias.
Justice Umar held that there were no sufficient grounds to grant the recusal request and ordered that Sowore remain in custody pending the determination of the bail-related application.
The case is part of ongoing legal proceedings connected to earlier court decisions on his bail conditions.
