Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, on Thursday unveiled his development blueprint tagged ‘My Lagos Dream’, outlining his vision ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Hamzat, who recently emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, said his administration would prioritise job creation, infrastructure development, education, healthcare and security.
Speaking at the APC state secretariat in Ikeja while formally accepting his nomination, he pledged inclusive governance that caters for all residents across the state.
“I will work for all Lagosians—the fisherman in Badagry and Epe, the trader in Oyingbo, Mile 12 and Balogun, the driver, mechanic, hawker and every young person striving to survive,” he said.
He added that Lagos must sustain its status as Africa’s leading commercial hub through strategic investment and people-centred governance.
Hamzat outlined four key focus areas of his agenda: improved service delivery and infrastructure investment, job creation and youth empowerment, knowledge and skills development, and enhanced healthcare, water supply and security.
He also pledged continuity with ongoing reforms and projects initiated under President Bola Tinubu and successive APC administrations in the state.
“The 2027 election is crucial for Lagos and Nigeria. With your support, we will keep Lagos working,” he said.
Hamzat secured the APC governorship ticket after polling 657,917 votes at the party’s primary, defeating his sole challenger, Olanrewaju Jim-Kamal, who scored one vote.
