President Tinubu Appoints Segun Aina As New JAMB Registrar

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, replacing Professor Is-haq Oloyede whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026.

The appointment was announced on Thursday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is expected to become the youngest registrar in JAMB’s history.

According to the statement, the 39 year old academic has experience in digital systems, examination administration and public sector reforms.

He holds degrees from the University of Kent and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom and has also completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School.

The statement added that Aina previously worked with JAMB during his National Youth Service and has served as a consultant to examination bodies including NECO and NABTEB.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that the new registrar would build on the achievements recorded under Oloyede’s leadership.
