Kaduna approves 120,000 bags of fertiliser, 11 road projects in Zaria

The Kaduna State Executive Council has approved the procurement of 6,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser, equivalent to 120,000 bags, to support smallholder farmers and boost agricultural productivity across the state.

The approval was given at the State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Uba Sani, with the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. AbdulKadir Mu'azu Meyere, commissioners, and other senior government officials in attendance.

Speaking after the meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, said the council also approved the second phase of township road construction in Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas.

According to him, the project involves the construction of 11 roads and is expected to improve road connectivity, ease the movement of people and goods, and stimulate economic activities in the affected communities.

Maiyaki also announced the approval of the Kaduna State Life Skills Policy, aimed at equipping learners with practical knowledge and skills for education, employment, and entrepreneurship. He added that Kaduna is the first state in Nigeria to adopt the policy.

The council further approved the Kaduna State Policy on Gender in Education to promote equal access to education, improve school retention, and create a more inclusive learning environment for all learners across the state.
