NYO Pays Courtesy Visit to APC National Youth Leader, Seeks Increased Youth Registration, Mobilisation, and 30% Inclusion

The Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO), Ogun State Chapter, paid a courtesy visit to the office of the APC National Youth Leader, Hon. Dayo Israel, where it met with Mrs. Amaka, Chief of Staff to the National Youth Leader, to discuss nationwide youth mobilisation and the registration of youth support groups for party candidates.

During the discussions, both Mrs. Amaka and the NYO leadership emphasized the need to ensure at least 30 percent youth inclusion in elective and appointive positions at local, state, and national levels, highlighting the importance of giving young people a meaningful voice in governance.

The delegation, led by the Ogun State Chairman of NYO, Comrade Saka Olanrewaju, stressed the urgency of strategically organizing young people across the country ahead of upcoming political activities. He noted that structured coordination of youth support groups would not only strengthen mobilisation efforts but also ensure that young people are properly represented within party and governance structures.

During the meeting, NYO presented its framework for harmonizing grassroots youth movements operating at community, state, national, and diaspora levels under a unified and well-documented structure. The organisation noted that proper registration and coordination of support groups would improve accountability, enhance communication, and strengthen the link between young people and party leadership.

The delegation also stressed that institutionalizing youth inclusiveness within party structures is essential for long-term growth and sustainability. Allocating at least 30 percent of elective and appointive positions to young people, they explained, would promote fairness, leadership continuity, and deeper youth commitment to party development.

NYO further called for increased youth participation in voter registration drives, campus sensitization programmes, and civic engagement initiatives, emphasizing that youth mobilisation should extend beyond elections to include governance, policy input, and community development.

Responding, Mrs. Amaka commended NYO for its proactive and organized approach to youth engagement. She acknowledged the importance of structured youth participation in strengthening party growth and national development and reaffirmed the National Youth Leader’s office commitment to initiatives that promote youth inclusion and empowerment.

She also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing youth inclusion in governance and praised Seyi Tinubu for his pragmatic efforts in supporting youth initiatives. Mrs. Amaka highlighted the need for continued collaboration with NYO on issues that affect and promote Nigerian youth.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to sustained collaboration aimed at mobilizing, empowering, and integrating young Nigerians into leadership and governance processes across the country.
