The Presidency has said the increasing number of governors and political leaders defecting to the All Progressives Congress APC reflects growing confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, Mr Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, made this known on Sunday while speaking at a well attended APC rally in Fagge, Kano State.
He explained that President Tinubu’s inclusive approach to governance has attracted politicians from different parties and across all geopolitical zones.
“There is no political party in Nigeria today that represents unity like the APC,” Abdulaziz said.
He noted that several governors from the South South have already joined the APC, while the party continues to gain strength in the South East, adding that more defections are expected.
Abdulaziz dismissed a newly formed opposition coalition, saying it has failed to attract any sitting governor, which, according to him, shows its limited influence.
On governance, the presidential aide highlighted key economic reforms, ongoing road and rail projects, compensation for communities affected by infrastructure development, and the introduction of Compressed Natural Gas CNG to help reduce transportation costs.
He cited the Sokoto Badagry dual carriageway and major road projects in northern states such as Kano, Niger and Katsina as clear evidence of the administration’s commitment to development.
According to him, the president’s reforms are aimed at achieving long term economic stability and shared prosperity for all Nigerians.
Abdulaziz added that many Nigerians are beginning to feel the impact of the administration’s policies, as the benefits of democracy become more visible.
He concluded that the APC remains the strongest platform for national unity and progress, urging Nigerians to continue supporting President Tinubu’s reform agenda.
