Eid-el-Maulud: Akpabio urges Muslims to pray for Nigeria

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has felicitated with Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud.

Akpabio, in a message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, in Abuja on Monday, urged Muslims to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad and pray for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria.

He described the life of the Prophet as a lasting example of compassion, tolerance, humility and service to humanity.

The Senate President said Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity and called on citizens to embrace love, forgiveness and mutual respect, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.

“In these trying times, our nation needs the prayers of all religious leaders and faithful,” he said, urging Nigerians to pray for the country’s leaders, security, economic prosperity and national unity.

Akpabio reaffirmed the commitment of the 10th Senate to promoting laws and policies that protect religious freedom, strengthen national unity and improve the welfare of Nigerians.

He also felicitated President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, wishing the Muslim community a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
