International Youth Day: NYO Ogun Chapter to Embark on Tree Planting, Free Medical Outreach for Ogun Residents

The Nigerian Youth Organisation (NYO), Ogun State Chapter, has unveiled plans to mark this year’s International Youth Day with a series of impactful programmes, including tree planting and a free medical outreach for residents of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

The programmes, scheduled to hold on Wednesday as part of activities to commemorate International Youth Day, are aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, healthy living and meaningful youth participation in community development.

In a statement issued by the organisation’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Edun Abdullahi, the Chairman of NYO Ogun State Chapter, Comrade Saka Olanrewaju, said the organisation was determined to give this year’s celebration a new dimension in line with the global theme and objectives of International Youth Day.

According to him, the planned activities are part of NYO’s commitment to using youth-oriented programmes to create positive impact in communities across Ogun State.

He disclosed that the organisation had already commenced discussions with relevant stakeholders, including the Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, the Commissioner for Environment, the Ogun State Television (OGTV) and the Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), with a view to establishing partnerships and ensuring the success of the programmes.

Olanrewaju further called on young people, government agencies, community leaders and other stakeholders to support initiatives that promote environmental protection, accessible healthcare and youth development.

He said NYO Ogun would continue to champion programmes that place young people at the centre of community development while encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to the growth and progress of the state.
