The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced a reduction in its nomination and expression of interest forms for women, youths and persons living with disabilities (PWDs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party said the move is aimed at promoting inclusiveness and giving more Nigerians the opportunity to participate in politics.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, the NDC said female aspirants and youths aged 18 to 35 will pay only 50 per cent of the approved fees, while aspirants living with disabilities will pay 25 per cent of the total cost.
Enekweizu said financial challenges and physical disabilities should not stop capable Nigerians from contesting for public office.
He also noted that women deserve greater support to overcome cultural and societal barriers that have limited their participation in politics.
According to the party, forms for presidential, governorship and National Assembly elections will be available at its National Secretariat in Abuja, while forms for State House of Assembly elections will be sold at NDC state offices across the country.
