Dangote Refinery Assures Stable Petrol Supply Nationwide

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has reassured Nigerians of a steady and uninterrupted supply of premium motor spirit, PMS, across the country.

The refinery said its operations continue to shield the domestic fuel market from import related volatility and external supply disruptions, reinforcing stability in the downstream petroleum sector.

During the recent festive period, the company implemented a temporary price support initiative to ease the cost of petrol for consumers amid increased household spending. This marked the second consecutive festive season in which the refinery absorbed significant costs in the national interest, following logistics support in 2024 and a price reduction in 2025.

Despite the intervention, Dangote Refinery noted that several filling stations failed to adjust their pump prices, preventing Nigerians from fully benefiting from the reduction.

With the festive season concluded, petrol prices have been modestly realigned to sustainable levels to support long term market stability and affordability. Under the current pricing arrangement, PMS is sold at N799 per litre at the gantry, while MRS retail outlets dispense the product at N839 per litre.

The Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, David Bird, disclosed that the facility supplies about 50 million litres of PMS daily to the domestic market, with nationwide evacuation and distribution operating smoothly.

He added that the refinery’s flexible design allows it to process various crude and intermediate feedstocks, ensuring continuous petrol supply even during planned maintenance activities.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to delivering energy security, price stability and long term value for Nigerians, while remaining a stabilising force in the country’s petroleum supply chain.
