President Bola Tinubu has directed security and intelligence chiefs to step up the fight against insecurity and ensure improved safety across the country.
The directive was given on Tuesday during a closed-door meeting at the State House, Abuja, which lasted over an hour. The meeting focused on reviewing the security situation nationwide and strengthening ongoing operations.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, said the discussions were productive, with the president giving clear instructions aimed at improving the effectiveness of security agencies.
General Oluyede assured Nigerians that security agencies are working more closely together to ensure peace and safety, especially during the yuletide season.
He added that the armed forces and other security agencies remain committed to protecting lives and property nationwide.
