Adams Oshiomhole, senator representing Edo North and former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has taken a swipe at former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over his decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Oshiomhole said Atiku lacks the capacity to govern Nigeria, adding that his frequent movement from one political party to another shows an inability to build a stable political structure.

His comments came just hours after Atiku officially announced his move to the ADC — the party recently adopted by a coalition of opposition figures preparing to challenge the APC in the 2027 general elections.

“If he cannot build the PDP, how can he build Nigeria?” Oshiomhole said, referring to Atiku’s long history of leaving and rejoining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Atiku confirmed his latest move in a post on X, where he shared a photo of himself holding his ADC membership card with the caption: “It’s official.”

The former vice-president’s defection marks another significant shift as he positions himself for the 2027 presidential race.
