The Ogun State Government has unveiled the newly remodeled Executive Council Chambers at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, highlighting its commitment to modern, functional, and lasting infrastructure. The facility was formally inaugurated by former governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba.
The government explained that the former chambers had become outdated, and remodeling was chosen over building a new Governor’s Office to ensure prudent spending and provide a more practical workspace. An official said the decision was made “to prioritise modernization, efficiency and responsible use of public resources.”
The upgraded chambers now feature modern technology, improved lighting, advanced digital systems, and enhanced executive seating, all designed to support better discussions and decision-making.
This project forms part of the government’s wider Urban Renewal Programme, which also includes upgrades to major areas such as the Ibara GRA. It aligns with the ISEYA development pillars that guide investments in infrastructure, security, health, education, and housing.
At the unveiling, the government recognised the contributions of Executive Council members and commended Chief Osoba for his steady support. His praise of other ongoing transformation projects, including the remodeling of the MKO Abiola Stadium and the Cultural Centre, was described as motivation to sustain the state’s development drive.
Chief Osoba described the remodeled chambers as “a clear sign of Ogun State’s continued growth and readiness for the future.”
The government reiterated its commitment to creating an environment that attracts investment and promotes long-term growth, noting that each completed regeneration project brings Ogun State closer to becoming a modern, organised, and forward-looking state.
