The Super Eagles have arrived in Bissau ahead of Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Guinea-Bissau.
The Nigerian team travelled from Uyo on Sunday after securing a 2-1 victory over Madagascar in their opening Group L fixture at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday.
The team held its final training session in Uyo before departing for Bissau at about 5:00 p.m. aboard a chartered ValueJet flight.
The Super Eagles arrived at the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport, Bissau, at about 8:40 p.m., according to team spokesman Promise Efoghe.
Guinea-Bissau also won their opening match, defeating Tanzania 2-0 to move ahead of Nigeria on goal difference.
Nigeria will face the Djurtus at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro on Tuesday, with both teams looking to strengthen their position in Group L.
The two countries have met four times, with Guinea-Bissau winning once. Their only victory came in 2023 when they defeated Nigeria 1-0 in an AFCON qualifier in Abuja.
With Tanzania already qualified as co-hosts, only the winner of Group L will earn a qualification ticket for the 2027 AFCON.
