2027: Otti calls for unity among Labour Party stakeholders in Abia

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has urged Labour Party stakeholders in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, to strengthen unity and work together ahead of the 2027 elections.

Otti made the call on Monday at the Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders’ Summit held at Umuomainta Women Hall, with the theme, “Sustaining the Transformation: A United Labour Party in Nsulu for 2027 and Beyond.”

Represented by the Labour Party National Vice Chairman, South-East, Ishmeal Onuoha, the governor said peaceful cooperation and inclusive participation were essential to sustaining his administration’s development efforts.

He urged party members to actively participate in party affairs, respect leadership and work collectively towards strengthening the party at the grassroots.

The governor also assured stakeholders that concerns raised during the summit would receive appropriate attention, describing the gathering as an important step towards greater unity.

Speaking at the event, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Caleb Ajagba, said the immediate priority was to build a strong political structure capable of mobilising support for Otti’s second-term ambition and other Labour Party candidates in 2027.

He announced plans to inaugurate the Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders’ Forum to coordinate mobilisation efforts in the area.

The state Labour Party Chairman, Peter Azubuike, and the Chairman of Abia Arise, Nkem Okoro, also called for greater cooperation among party members and the various political blocs in Isiala Ngwa North.

Other stakeholders urged residents to support the administration’s development efforts and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

The summit ended with the inauguration of the executive members of the Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders’ Forum.
