Gov. Adeleke endorses Tinubu for second term, promises to campaign for him in 2027

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, promising to campaign for him in the 2027 presidential election.

Adeleke made this known during an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, a day after he was declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election.

The governor said his support for Tinubu was not based on any secret agreement between them, but because the president is a Yoruba man from the South-West.

“I never reached an agreement with President Tinubu. My support is just based on the fact that he is a Yoruba man and he’s from the South-West,” Adeleke said.

He also urged Tinubu to pay more attention to federal road projects in the South-West.

He described Tinubu as his father, said he would give the president his full support during the 2027 election campaign.

“I will go all out for President Tinubu in 2027, big time. And when it’s time to campaign, however he wants me to come in, I will do it,” he said.

In his victory speech after securing a second term, Adeleke also reaffirmed his support for Tinubu.

“I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” he said.

The governor also commended President Tinubu for what he described as the free and fair conduct of the Osun governorship election.
