Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has won re-election for a second term, defeating his closest challenger, Oyetola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner on Sunday morning after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concluded the collation of results in Osogbo, the state capital.

The State Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, said Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to win the closely contested election.
